RELIGIOUS EMBLEMS & AWARDS
"A Scout is Reverent" and "Duty to God." More than just phrases found in Scouting, these are words our Scouts strive to live by on a daily basis. To help them grow in their faith, Catholic Scouts have four Religious Emblem programs available for them to earn. We also have a Guardian Angel Award for all Lion Scouts!

Guardian Angel Award (this is a
Religious Knots
By earning any of the Religious Emblems, the scout is also entitled to wear the BSA Youth Religious Knot. Only 1 knot is sewn on scout uniform, no matter how many Religious Emblems the scout earns. Note: Those scouts earning the Guardian Angel Award are not entitled to wear a knot on their uniform.
Registered Catholic adults are entitled to wear the BSA Adult Religious Knot if they receive the St. George Emblem.
Guardian Angel Award (this is a
- Registered Lion Cub Scout of Catholic Faith.
- Registered 6-7 year old (Tiger or Wolf) Cub Scout of Catholic Faith.
- Registered 8-10 year old (Bear or Webelos) of Catholic Faith.
- Scout must be at least 14 years old and in the 8th grade. Those that are 17 years old and over will be asked to join the PPXII Program. This program can only be done as a group with our AAD Retreat Team. We hold AAD classes typically one weekend a year.
- Must be at least 15 years old and in the 10th grade. Scouts registered in troops must complete the program before they are 18 years old. Those registered in the Venturing program must complete before they are 21 years old. This program can only be done as a group with our PPXII Retreat Team. We hold PPXII classes typically one weekend a year.
Religious Knots
